Aileen Doyle

Counsellor

Hi I’m Aileen, I have been passionate about counselling for many years. I have worked in an NHS setting providing counselling services in Cardiff to people from all walks of life helping them with a large variety of issues they have been facing.

It always amazes me how much talking helps people get perspective in their lives and allows them the space to make decisions about the things that effect them. I am used to dealing with issues ranging from extreme crisis situations to helping people who just feel a bit stuck in their lives. I have always been a good listener so found these skills were well suited to being a counsellor.

Give me a call and we can have a chat about how counselling can help you.

Pippa Reynolds

Counsellor

Hi, I’m Pippa. I have recently joined the Body Mind Clinic and very much look forward to working here.

I have been practising as a counsellor since 1991 and have a wide range experience from work in different settings including different cultural settings, people with both physical and learning disabilities and those facing the end of life and dealing with grief.

The driving force that underpins my work is the desire to help people change if that’s what they want. To help them to feel freer, stronger and more fulfilled.

Talking about what troubles us sounds so simple. After all we do it all the time. But my experience convinces me still, after more than 30 years of doing this work, that talking with a therapist who is trained to listen in an active and dedicated way and building a therapeutic relationship together is a powerful healing process.

It gives you, the client, a safe and non-judgemental place to freely explore your feelings and clear your mind which in turn eases anxiety, confusion, depression and doubt : these are words that attempt to describe a whole host of distress that life events can cause us. That easing can then open up the possibilty of an empowered and hopeful way forward and enable you to make choices that ultimately enhance the quality of your life.

My approach is integrative which means that together we look at this immediate point in your life, what led to it and the many aspects and dimensions of your world that are affecting you ; some within your control, some not ; some negative and destructive and some positive and nourishing. By reflecting on the complexity of you life in this way you can shift perspective and see it differently like the changing patterns of a kaleidoscope.

I prefer to meet face to face but if you’d like to talk to me before booking a session please feel free to call me and we’ll take it from there.

Counsellor

Hi I’m Helen, I work here at Connected Counselling at The Body Mind Clinic as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I love my job and the fact that I work so closely with my clients as we work together through the various issues we all encounter on this rollercoaster of life! I have quite a varied experience from working with individuals with emotional difficulties to those who have had difficult and traumatic experiences. I am person centred which mean I place you at the heart of our working relationship. By working to heighten awareness through warmth, openness and presence, my aim is to create a safe space for clients to move forward with optimism and strength and to live happier and healthier lives. I’m very experienced in what I do and find that always helps put my clients at ease knowing they can talk to a professional in a safe environment.

I always suggest having at least a chat on the phone to see if you are comfortable in engaging in us working together. I’m also happy to meet face to face to see if you’d like to book in for an initial session. You should always be 100% happy in engaging in talking therapy as the dynamic between client and counsellor is pretty important! I look forward to meeting you.

Therapist

Hi, I’m Lynn and I’m an experienced therapist who has recently joined the team working at The Body Mind Clinic in Cardiff. I am a member of the UK Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and work with people from all types of backgrounds with all kinds of issues. As a therapist with around 10 years experience I am well equipped to support you with challenges like depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma or grief that you may be experiencing

When we work together I build authentic connections through my compassionate and empathic nature that creates a safe and non-judgemental space for you to quickly feel at ease and talk freely.

I offer an integrative approach where I employ effective interventions from various therapies to find the best solution for you, for example I may suggest hypnosis led work where I feel this may be effective for you.  I appreciate we all have different values, experiences and ways of seeing the world and a “one-size-fits-all” approach may only serve a small part of the problem. The aim is to integrate thoughts, emotions and the body as a whole system. Addressing thoughts alone for instance, risks leaving unprocessed emotions to become trapped in the body affecting the nervous system where symptoms will continue to be activated unconsciously in similar situations if left untreated. I will work collaboratively with you to first build awareness of any negative beliefs, emotions and behaviours that are keeping you stuck in a cycle of unhelpful patterns. Then we work to find the best ways to process the emotions, settle any internal conflicts and elicit new and adaptive ways, that in turn build your confidence, resilience and overall wellbeing.

I am passionate about learning and delivering the most effective mind and body techniques that you can easily implement, helping you to overcome life’s challenges not only within the therapy practice but also to empower you to develop them on your own to create the life you want to live. This holistic approach can be achieved through combining techniques that: build compassion for the different parts within yourself; reframe your perceptions of events; find solutions to unresolved conflicts; calm your nervous system; change your emotional states and increase vital energy. All techniques can be delivered through the medium of hypnosis as well to quickly tune into the pattern-forming centre of the unconscious mind.

    Therapist

Hello, I am Emma and new here to The Body Mind Clinic team! I am a warm, open person who loves listening to people in a sensitive and understanding, non judgmental manner. I welcome all people who feel they would like to discuss or explore issues that are bothering them, whether this is going deep into the past,  keeping it to the ‘here and now’, or even working creatively on how they might view the world, themselves and their place in it.

I am passionate about providing empathic person centered therapy to help you with the many myriad challenges life can throw our way at times! I work with a range of issues including loss, relationships issues, stress and trauma.

With a background in bodywork, I sometimes introduce meditation or mindful work into the sessions, only if you are open to exploring this.

    My first session

In the first session we can get to know each other and work out if sessions for you might be what yiu are looking for. This will be an informal chat, to try and establish if your needs can be met by sessions with me. It usually quite easy to get a feel for whether you’d like to work with a therapist.

Sometimes talking about aims and goals may be useful, but not everybody is always sure of what they might need with therapy so this can be kept open and the intention of the sessions will become apparent as time goes on.

    What I can help with

Abuse, Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women’s issues, Work related issues

    Qualifications
